Then welcome aboard Atlantic Canada's only privateer schooner, "Liana's Ransom", a gaff rigged, top sail schooner located at Privateers Wharf, in Historic Properties, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Sail back in time aboard a replica of the privateer schooners that sailed from Halifax for fame and fortune.
The schooner is crewed by a family of local sailors with a history tied to the sea as fisherman and service in the Navy, Coast Guard and Fishery Patrol of Canada. All of the crew are from the same family who hail from Fisherman's Cove in Eastern Passage, with an unmatched knowledge of the harbour and it's history.
The schooner crew's great grandfather sailed onboard sealing schooners out of Halifax more than 100 years ago and their grandfather was a fisherman born and raised on Devil's Island. As a family run business, the crew specializes in excellent service, tall tales and good old Maritime hospitality.
Come if you dare, sail under the Red Ensign and a "Letter of Marque" issued by the King, and experience life aboard an 18th century privateer.
